GCSE Business - Writing frameworks to raise achievement
This unit focuses on the use of writing frameworks that are intended to raise the achievement of all students at GCSE level. By using writing frameworks students will:
- understand the requirements of exam style questions
- learn how to structure their answers
- be able to access top band marks
Writing frameworks aim to break down exam style questions, making them more manageable to answer. Even if students do not have a complete understanding to begin with, their understanding should evolve over time with the repeated use of such structures. The resources which can be downloaded from the download column on the right focus on two fictional case studies - a catering company and a supplier of ball gowns.
The structure of the resources for each case study is:
- Case study with exam-style question and writing framework
- The writing framework annotated with teacher guidance for student preparation
- A completed writing framework as a model answer for teacher/student guidance
The zip file provides the resources in Word as three separate documents for each case study.
