GCSE Business - Costs, revenue and profit

The  Cost of Colour is a case study with supporting discussion points, classroom activities and question sheets based on The Price of a Perm, which grew out of the EBEA’s 14-16 project in the 1980s. It was widely used for a number of years and has now been completely updated. The story was originally based on two real businesses in the Leeds area. It allows students to examine costs, revenue and profit on a very basic level, gradually increasing in difficulty to allow for substantial differentiation.

The resource comprises teacher guidance, two short case studies and questions with suggested answers to the questions.
