Enterprise
Enterprise education can offer key opportunities to meet the economic well-being strand of the Every Child Matters agenda. This unit comprises teacher resources for building enterprise capability in schools and colleges.
From the links on the left, the link to 'Enterprise through business studies' is a set of lesson plans and accompanying resources for the Key Stage 4 business studies teacher. This combines business studies marketing mix theory into the concept of enterprise. The other three links offer non-subject specfic suggestions for, and/or links to, activities which are presented in three categories - individual activites which lend themsleves well for short timetabled sessions or 1-3 hours, and larger blocks of activities to be managed over longer periods of time.
The DCSF document which can be downloaded from the right hand column has much useful and relevant information. However readers shold be aware that many of the referenced links are no longer active due to changes to Government websites following the 2010 election.
The context for enterprise education, together with supporting material on managing enterprise in schools and colleges, can be found in the Management section of this website.
A list of articles from the EBEA, Teaching Business and Economics covering Economic Well-being and Enterprise, can be downloaded from the magazine library
