Generic issues for experienced teachers - Measuring student progress
Trainee teachers, and teachers at the end of their induction period, are required to meet the professional Standards Q13 and C13 :
“Know how to use local and national statistical information to evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching, to monitor the progress of those they teach and to raise levels of attainment” (TDA 2007).
The article which can be downloaded in pdf format from the right hand column gives guidance on how effective measurement of student progress can be achieved through target setting and reflective practice.
