Assessment, monitoring and feeback - 6. Assessment for learning

 This unit is an introduction to assessment for learning, which is considered vital by the DoE to the raising of standards in schools. This is a three-hour session which introduces the key features of AfL and how it can be used effectively in their practice. Its aim is to enhance understanding of:

  •  what is assessment for learning (AfL) 
  •  the key features of AfL
  • what AFL looks like in practice
  •  potential strategies for meeting AfL
