Assessment, monitoring and feedback - 10. Using classroom and examination performance data to evaluate teaching, diagnose issues and take remedial action

This unit provides the opportunity to consider the range of assessment data, both collected by the individual teacher and that which already exists within the school and to use that data to reflect upon teaching to improve student learning.

This unit aims to enhance understanding of:

  • how to reflect on their own practice
  • how to use data to improve their teaching and student learning
  • the value of student data to the school’s senior management team for performance management purposes
