GCSE Business - Production
This is an interactive and hands-on approach to teaching production methods. This approach allows students to gain an in-depth understanding into how the production methods function and some of the benefits and problems of each method. This lesson allows students to draw on their own experiences as well as theory to produce a thorough description, explanation and evaluation of production methods. The activity is based on acting out each production method, along with worksheets that help students evaluate each approach. This leads to a PowerPoint / poster which evaluates each method. A mark scheme is provided so this can be used as an assessment. There are also a number of other resources that have been analysed that can be used to help present this topic in other ways.
It can be used as an introductory lesson to production methods. However the students would benefit from having some understanding of the production methods (job, batch and flow).
This lesson is aimed at two one hour sessions, or a double session.
