GCSE Business - Business organisation
This lesson will give students a multisensory introduction to the concept of organisation structures and the impact that structure can have on communication within business. The activity will also provide discussion points and experiences that can be drawn on later to support further learning within other aspects of people management.
The lesson is carefully structured in line with the accelerated learning cycle to promote a deeper understanding of the material, whilst the main activity is designed to make the learning more memorable by bringing the topic to life using patterns, sound and movement. Two alternative plenary activities are suggested: one a traditional plenary designed to consolidate learning within the lesson, the other to encourage reflection in preparation for further learning.
Alternative approaches to teaching the topics of organisation structures and communication are also considered, including a DVD resource, internet based research, a small group/paired task and a more traditional worksheet. There are also pointers to some other useful resources
