Are your lessons dull?
Did you know that your students will only remember 10% of what you say?
These pages aim to offer a series of handouts and teacher guidance materials to help you develop strategies for the delivery of the A/AS level economics theory. Resources are provided in those areas of the curriculum which teachers and tutors have reported they find more challenging to provide engaging classroom experiences for their students. They therefore are not intended as a comprehensive list of resources for every area of the curriculum.
The documents available for download from this unit are:
- Factors of production - a two-page handout to students to support the delivery of this area of theory
- International trade - a set of guidance notes with suggestions for strategies, sources of research and sound recommendations for approaches to address differentiation, including stimulating the gifted and talented.
- Labour markets - a set of guidance notes for teachers providing ideas for delivery, engaging classroom activities and sources of research for both teachers and students
- Market failure - a comprehensive set of examples of how to teach some of the quite challenging topics around market failure in an effective manner that enhances understanding and so develops confidence.
- Supply and demand - a lesson plan and accompaning resources intended to enhance students' ability to apply the theory of supply and demand to real life contexts
