Supporting trainees - Guidance on structure of courses for ITT with sample handbooks

The PGCE Handbook acts as an important document for trainees and for the institution that validates the award. For trainees it provides a guide to procedures, dates and assessment. Above all, it shows them what is expected from them and what they can do to meet these expectations. For the institution it spells out the arrangements that are being made to support trainees and the procedures that are in place to check that these arrangements are working and to identify when they need to be revised. The handbook therefore plays a very important role during award validations and inspections.

You will see from the three handbooks that it is usual for course handbooks to contain specific information which can be seen by downloading the document from the link on the right.
