Teaching and Learning for trainees - Differentiation
This unit emphasises the holistic and pervasive way in which differentiation influences our teaching and helps us to develop good practice within a business classroom. The article and asociated tasks on differentiation can be downloaded from the right hand column on this page.
These materials consider the various ways in which classroom teachers differentiate and this is followed by a range of tasks and activities. Having worked through the article and activities trainees should:
- appreciate and gain experience of the processes and practices of differentiation
- understand the need to provide differentiated feedback to learners within formative processes of assessment
- understand how to support and guide learners and set appropriate and focused targets for learning
- appreciate the need to use assessment as a process in order to guide learning.
